Great joy of the double ordination at the Holy Mass of St. Panteleimon of Agia

Two ordinations in the IM of St. Panteleimon of Agia Text-photos: IM Demetrias, IM Agios Panteleimon On Sunday morning, September 24, the Holy Monastery of St. Panteleimon of Agia, where His Eminence Metropolitan of Demetrias, Mr. Ignatius, who celebrated the ordination of Deacon Fr. Michael and the ordination as Deacon of Monk Fr. Prodromos, brothers of the monastery. The Divine Liturgy was attended by the Mayor of Agia Antonis Gountaras and many pilgrims. At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the Abbot of the Monastery, Archimandrite Nicodemus Agathonikou, gave the speech, asking for His Eminence's blessing "that the newly ordained brothers preserve the great gift untainted and intact, that they be worthy of their mission and that they never spare the Holy Spirit". In his response, His Eminence described this day as "the day of Pentecost, since the Holy Spirit acted three times, in the consecration of the Holy Gifts and in the ordinations of the two brothers". Mr. Ignatius, taking his cue from the Gospel passage of the call of the first Disciples, observed that "since then Christ has been walking among us and seducing people, as is the case in this Monastery, where, for the last twenty years, Christ has been speaking to the souls of young people. The spirit of the world cannot explain this miracle, but this is how the Grace of God works." His Eminence referred to his acquaintance with Blessed Elder Emiliano and his successor Abbot Nicodemus, with whom he developed absolute trust, which caused miraculous results in the revival of the Monastery and the general spiritual revival of the region, while they formed a brotherhood that was a gift of God for the Local Church. "This is Christ and the Church, this is our hope for the future. All around us things are bleak, but we do not despair, because we have our common faith as our unifying force, we have a living Church, we have Christ, who still attracts pure hearts today". Concluding his speech, Mr. Ignatius noted that "we have experienced a great joy, which we need so much nowadays. I love the brotherhood and all our monasteries, which are alive, open to our people, which in a special way, they interrupt..." He asked everyone to "unity and patience, to understand God's pedagogy through the recent great trial, which must ground us, so that we understand that selfishness and avarice, which our age displays, bring suffering and destruction, while humility and repentance attract the grace and mercy of God, of which we are always in need".
