The Monastery of Agios Panteleimon, whose church is dedicated to the Presentation of the Virgin Mary, is located outside Agia on a plateau of Mount Ossa (Gr: Kissavos) with a view to the south A fortified complex surrounds the church on three sides - east, south and west - from which an elegant dome projects, attracting the visitor's attention. The monastery preserves a large part of its historical structure from the 16th century, during which it underwent great development, as did the whole area of Agia, thanks in part to preferential tax treatment from the Ottoman administration as early as 1540. The katholikon, the two-story Abbot's tower to the south, and the refectory to the west were built in this period, while only the outer wall remains to the east and south where the old wings of the monastic cells once served as a precinct. At this point, only the old wing of the monastery is being reconstructed. The newer wing of the monks' residence was built next to the old bank.

The purpose of our website is to allow a visitor or pilgrim to approach our Holy Monastery through the Internet, to learn about us, and to learn how to visit us in person.

The Monastery accepts pilgrims from the morning hours until 13:30 pm. For group prayers, please inform us a few days in advance, so that the traditional treat can be prepared and the Holy Relics of the Monastery can be offered for veneration .
